The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity to briefly discuss your child’s needs, ask questions, and determine whether we’re a good fit. If we decide to move forward, you’ll receive an intake packet through the client portal, including:
- Practice Policies & Informed Consent
- Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
- Credit Card Authorization
- Demographics form
- Optional screening/rating scales
After the forms are completed, we’ll schedule your two-part intake (a parent session and a child session), followed by treatment planning and ongoing therapy sessions.

Therapy at Best Self Psychology is tailored to meet your child’s individual needs. After the two-part intake, I may schedule a parent feedback session to discuss impressions and recommendations. Ongoing sessions typically occur weekly or biweekly and may include occasional parent support sessions. I use evidence-based, strengths-focused approaches to support your child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth.

I am not in-network with any insurance providers. However, I am able to provide you with superbills (detailed receipts) that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Many families receive partial reimbursement depending on their plan.

The No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects individuals from unexpected medical bills and ensures transparency in healthcare pricing. As part of this law, if you are uninsured or paying privately (not using insurance), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) outlining the anticipated costs of your care before services begin.
This estimate includes the types of services you may receive, the cost per session, and an estimated total over a 12-month period. The estimate is not a bill or a contract — it’s meant to help you plan and avoid unexpected charges. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
